October 19, 2015

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Advanced Materials & Tools Company (President - Fumio Tsurumaki, Headquarters: 1-3-2 Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has launched new inserts for heavy turning applications.

Negative, single sided inserts with a chip breaker for heavy cutting are used for machining various components for the railway, ship building and energy and other large scale industries.

To cover a wider range of applications and provide an increased choice for customers, the CVD coated insert grades MC6025 and US735; with chipbreakers optimised for steels and stainless steels, have been added to the range.

Features of the Turning Inserts for Heavy Cutting

1.The new HR breaker has been added. It delivers outstanding chip control and cutting edge strength even at high depths of cut and high feed rates when machining general and alloy steels.

2.Additionally, the general purpose HL breaker that promotes efficient chip breaking and the HM breaker that combines cutting edge strength and sharpness for stainless steels and mild steels, have been added.

3.The CVD coated carbide grade MC6025 for stable machining of steels and the US735 grade for stainless steel machining have also been added.
