MFE – New Solid Carbide Flat Bottom Drills for Counter Boring

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Advanced Materials & Tools Company (President - Fumio Tsurumaki, Headquarters: 1-3-2 Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has launched MFE, a new solid carbide flat bottom drill for counter boring.

The new MFE are designed to provide flat bottom holes and achieves high efficiency drilling over various applications such as angled and spherical surfaces. Due to its excellent chipping resistance it is also ideal for thin plate machining and therefore reduces overall machining times.
Available in diameters φ3.0 to φ20.0 in a total of 31 items to cover a wide range of applications.

Features of long drill of the MFE

1.New point thinning geometry ensures the sufficient space for evacuating chips as well as offering low thrust.

2.A combination of different radii in the cutting edge geometry provides strength and excellent chip control.

3.Gash land (0 degree rake) provides excellent chipping resistance.

4.Smooth edge surfaces provide reduced deflection and excellent positional accuracy.
