Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Advanced Materials & Tools Company (President - Fumio Tsurumaki, Headquarters: 1-3-2 Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has added long and pilot drill types to the solid carbide drill series called MVS, which are part of the WSTAR drill series.
The existing general use MVS range of drills has received a favorable reception in the market place as a revolutionary next-generation drill that realizes stable machining over a wide range of work materials and applications.
To offer a deep hole drilling capability, the l/d =10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 types are available as standard and the l/d=2 is available for drilling pilot holes for MVS.
1.New point thinning geometry ensures sufficient space for evacuating chips as well as offering low thrust resistance.
2.High efficiency machining of F≧2000mm/min is achieved by utilising the high edge strength and improved chip control. (φ5mm, l/d=30, when machining general steels)
3.Double margin flutes achieve the optimum balance and precision for a small diameter drill.
4.The optimized web thickness and helix angle offer high cutting edge strength.
