Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Advanced Materials & Tools Company (President - Fumio Tsurumaki, Headquarters: 1-3-2 Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has launched a new ball nose end mill with IMPACT MIRACLE REVOLUTION coating for machining high hardened steels.
The materials used in the mould and die industry are progressively becoming harder, prompting the development of a range of ball nose end mills that deliver long tool life when machining hardened steels. This is achieved by utilising a newly developed coating named IMPACT MIRACLE REVOLUTION, which provides better wear resistance and high lubricity as well as high adhesion to the ultra-fine grade carbide substrate.
1.The combination of newly-developed (Al,Cr,Si) N top coating layer with improved oxidation resistance and high lubricity and the (Al,Ti,Si) N base coating layer with improved wear resistance and high adhesion realises excellent wear resistance when machining high hardened steels.
2.VFR2SB, 2 flute ball nose end mill offers high edge strength by optimizing the S-shaped curve and newly developed negative cutting edge geometry.
3.VFR2SBF, 2 flute ball nose end mill utilises the latest ZERO-µ technology to help it machine mirror surface finishes, thereby reducing the need for further finishing processes.
