Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Advanced Materials & Tools Company (President - Fumio Tsurumaki, Headquarters: Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has added a new insert to the range available for the FMAX high feed finish milling cutter.
A special alloy steel and aluminium body in the FMAX cutter combine to provide rigidity and light weight.
FMAX offers super efficient machining through the adoption of an ultra fine pitch tooth design. This helps to achieve high efficiency machining of F≧20m/min. (Tool diameter 125mm, 24 teeth, when machining a non-ferrous metal such as aluminium alloy.) FMAX delivers high efficiencies and is especially effective for high feed machining of automotive parts.
An R 0.4 mm insert has been now added to the FMAX insert series to extend the range of corner geometries that are available.
1. The body protector on the rake face forms chip shapes that are ideal for disposal and disperses them away from the body. Internal coolant also aids this process.
2. A special alloy steel and aluminium body combine to provide rigidity and light weight. FMAX also features an anti-fly dovetail clamping mechanism. (cutter diameter φ80 mm or larger)
3. The combination of both large and micro adjustment screws provides the ability for a precise run-out setting.
