Mitsubishi Materials Corporation, Advanced Materials & Tools Company (President - Fumio Tsurumaki, Headquarters: Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) has added a new burr prevention type of insert to the range available for the FMAX high feed finish milling cutter.
A special alloy steel and aluminium body in the FMAX cutter combine to provide high rigidity and light weight. FMAX offers super efficient machining through the adoption of an ultra fine pitch tooth design. This helps to achieve high efficiency machining of F≥20m/min. (Tool diameter 125mm, 24 teeth, when machining a non-ferrous metal such as aluminium alloy.) FMAX delivers high efficiencies and is especially effective for high feed machining of automotive parts.
A burr prevention type insert has been now added to the FMAX insert series to extend the range of corner geometries that are available.
1. The tool cutting edge angle is effective at reducing the thickness of chips, with almost no burrs generated in comparison to conventional products.
2. The finely-detailed R shape of the edge portion prevents chipping and enhances both stability and long tool life.
3. MD220 grade focusing on wear resistance can prevent burr formation and achieve long tool life.
