The AJX can achieve eight to 10 times higher feed rates than previous cutters. This
is due to the unique cutting edge form, highly rigid clamping system and a special pocket
shape for smooth chip discharge. This high efficiency has therefore slashed machining
costs, making the AJX a popular choice.
The new φ16 and φ17 additions have been released to meet strong customer demand
for smaller sizes. Their cutting resistance is small compared to the already released,
larger diameter AJX cutters. This lower resistance now makes it possible to use the AJX
series on smaller machines, which was previously difficult for the existing range of
cutters due to the higher power and machine rigidity requirements.
Also launched is a range of short shank (SS) type cutters with shorter tool lengths
than the existing cutters. These types are also effective when used on smaller machines
where tool overhangs are often shortened.
With this smaller diameter and short series addition, a full range of AJX high feed
radius milling cutters from φ16mm - φ160mm are now available. The AJX’s
new expanded range increases its performance and reputation as a world standard, high
feed radius milling cutter.
