New Inserts for the APX3000 Multi-Functional Indexable Insert Cutters

November 01, 2005

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured a new range of inserts for its APX3000 multi-functional indexable cutters. These new inserts will start to be sold by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Takata, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).
APX3000   The innovative APX3000 multi-functional cutter, launched in October 2004, comfortably achieves three important factors necessary for a successful indexable insert milling tool - low cutting resistance, high fracture resistance and long tool life. The range of inserts for the APX3000 has now been expanded to widen the application area available for this cutter.

Key features of the new inserts for the APX3000 are as follows.

1.
Two new inserts with nose radii of 3.0mm and 3.2mm in the general-purpose "VP15TF" grade.
2.
  • Five new inserts with nose radii of 0.2mm, 1.0mm, 2.0mm, 3.0mm and 3.2mm in "VP20RT," grade, specially designed for stainless steel.
