New Holders for BXD4000 Indexable Shoulder Milling Cutters
December 01, 2005
Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and
manufactured new holders for its BXD4000 multi-functional series of milling cutters. These new holders will start to be sold by
Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Takata, Headquarters: 1-6-1
Yokoami, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).

The
innovative BXD 4000
milling cutter series, launched in November 2002, achieves ultra high efficiency milling
of aluminium alloy and difficult-to-cut materials such as titanium alloy. The successful
BXD range is now supplemented with a new series of offset type holders capable of a greater
depth of milling to take full advantage of their multi-functionality.
Key features of the BXD 4000
offset holders are as follows.
- 1.
- Holders with a smaller shank diameter than the cutting diameter.
- 2.
-
- Enables deeper milling because the shank diameters do not interfere
with machined work pieces.
