Cermet
is mainly used for finishing operations because it provides superior surface finishes
when turning steel. However, when strong thermal shocks or impacts are applied during
machining, cracks can occur and then develop to cause fracturing that results in unpredictable
and unstable tool life. The new cermet grade, NX3035, has dramatically improved thermal
shock and chipping resistance due to the special alloy binder and optimized alloy structure
that provides extra high thermal conductivity (PAT. pending). As a result, NX3035 exhibits
a highly stable cutting edge performance even during wet cutting that usually causes
instability in conventional cermet grades.Key features
