For copying operations, to prevent the interference between the tool and workpiece, 35° rhombic inserts are often used. However, when machining steep taper faces and complex geometries there may be cases where these inserts cannot be used depending on the workpiece geometry. Profile Holders can be used for these challenging operations, allowing for a substantial reduction of cycle times. Because they can be used in a wider range of machining applications with a single tool, it is possible to achieve shorter cycle times and improved machining efficiencies. It is also possible to reduce the time required for the trial machining that is used to reduce steps in the machined surface and to adjust cutting edge positioning. Furthermore, due to a larger clearance between the workpiece and the insert, chip jamming and damage to the machined parts can be prevented. Features of Profile Holders
25° rhombic positive insert
Are used for various machining applications where the interference with the workpiece is liable to occur when using a conventional 35° rhombic insert. In comparison with a negative insert, the positive insert has high sharpness, covering a broader range of machining applications.
