Addition of high cutting edge strength type inserts to APX3000 multi-functional indexable end mill series

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured a new range of inserts for its APX3000 multi-functional indexable end mill series. These new inserts will start to be sold by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Takata, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida-ku, Tokyo).
The innovative APX3000 end mill series, launched in October 2004, comfortably achieves three important factors necessary for a successful indexable insert milling tool — low cutting resistance, high fracture resistance and long tool life. The range of inserts for the APX3000 has been expanded to include the H breaker (high cutting edge strength) type inserts with increased fracture resistance. Features of the H breaker inserts

- Compared to the conventional general-purpose M breaker, fracture resistance has been increased by 20%, making it more suitable for unstable machining and machining of hardened materials.

- MIRACLE coated VP15TF and VP20RT are available to offer consistent tool life.
