The MIRACLE coated WSTAR drill is a general-purpose solid carbide drill. Capable of machining a vast range of work materials, they are suitable for high efficiency, precision machining. Since the launch of the WSTAR range in April 2002, the series has enjoyed popularity amongst the metal cutting industry. With this latest addition of the drills, the MIRACLE coated WSTAR series is now available in the industry’s widest range of sizes from the world’s smallest diameter of ø0.5 as a through coolant drill to ø25.
- 1.
- The wave cutting edges that offer both high sharpness and cutting edge strength produce chips with a small curl radius and break them into short lengths. Additionally, this allows a stable cutting action without causing fracturing at the cutting edge even under severe cutting conditions where the cutting edges are subject to high loads.
- 2.
- Due to the cutting edge geometry initial entry is improved offering superior hole accuracies.
- 3.
- MIRACLE VP coating with a high resistance to heat, wear and oxidation, leading to extended tool life even when machining at high-speed area where high cutting temperatures are generated.
The new range of MIRACLE coated WSTAR drills is supplied in diameters ø20.5mm ~ ø25.0mm in ø0.5mm increments and a total of 20 different MB (3D) / LB (5D) internal coolant types are available.
