Additional grades for MS/GJ breaker inserts for difficult-to-cut materials

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured an addition to the MS/GJ breaker inserts for turning of difficult-to-cut materials. These will be available in CVD coated grade US905 and Miracle coated grades VP05RT and VP10RT. Sales will start to be marketed by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Takata, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida, Tokyo).
The MS/GJ breakers are suitable for high precision machining of difficult-to-cut materials such as heat-resistant and titanium alloys. The MS/GJ breaker inserts are now available in US905 and Miracle coated grades VP05RT and VP10RT to cover a wider application area. When machining difficult-to-cut materials, as the cutting edge is exposed to high temperatures it is difficult to carry out high performance machining. Due to the combination with these wear resistant grades, it is now possible to carry out higher speed machining when compared to conventional products.Features of US905, VP05RT and VP10RT MS/GJ breaker inserts

- MS/GJ breaker
MS breaker is a breaker for medium cutting of difficult-to-cut materials, offering sharp cutting edge performance and reduced cutting resistance. GJ breaker is a breaker for semi-heavy cutting of difficult-to-cut materials. The optimum rake angle and the flat land give high cutting edge strength. - 2.

A CVD coating layer which has a fine and dense structure prevent flank and rake face wear from developing even during high speed machining of difficult-to-cut materials. Additionally, a high hardness cemented carbide substrate is used to maintain machining dimensional accuracy by preventing plastic deformation. - 3.
- VP05RT/VP10RT
VP05RT offers increased wear resistance due to the combination of Miracle coating and a high-strength micro-grain cemented carbide substrate, resulting in a grade that can provide stable machining leading to high speed and efficiency machining. VP10RT is the first recommendation for turning difficult-to-cut materials with a good balance of wear and fracture resistance.
