New VF-MHVRB vibration control radius end mill and VF-6MHV,
6 flute vibration control end mill

Mitsubishi Materials Corporation has recently developed and manufactured a new range of IMPACT MIRACLE series end mills, the VF-MHVRB vibration control radius end mill and the VF-6MHV, 6 flute vibration control end mill. These will start to be sold by Mitsubishi Materials Tools Corporation (President: Osamu Takata, Headquarters: 1-6-1 Yokoami, Sumida, Tokyo).
When machining difficult-to-cut materials such as stainless steel and titanium alloy that are mainly used in aerospace parts applications, machining with high speeds can often result in vibrations. To solve this problem, Mitsubishi Materials released the IMPACT MIRACLE vibration control end mill series, 4 flute square and 6 flute radius types that employ irregular pitch and a combination of different helix angles. The series has now been expanded to include the VF-MHVRB 4 flute radius type and the VF-6MHV 6 flute square type end mills.Features of the VF-MHVRB and VF-6MHV

- Use of an irregular helix flute geometry assists in preventing vibrations even when machining difficult-to-cut materials and thin walled parts. This results in reduced vibrations leading to higher machining efficiency.

- IMPACT MIRACLE coating with high heat resistance is applied. This allows higher film hardness, higher oxidation resistance and a lower friction coefficient, making it possible to achieve high precision, high quality machining.

- Sharp corner radius geometry end mill that is suitable for heavy machining such as slotting and high efficiency machining can be achieved in a wide application area.

- A multi-flute square end mill that delivers high cutting performance especially when side milling.
