When machining difficult-to-cut materials such as stainless steel and titanium alloy that are mainly used in aerospace parts applications, machining with high speeds can often result in vibrations. To solve this problem, Mitsubishi Materials released the VF-MHV vibration control end mill that employs an irregular helix flute geometry that is designed by optimizing a combination of different helix angles. The series has now been expanded to include an under cut type (1) suitable for deep slotting and an additional 4 sizes for the VF-MHV to cover a broader range of machining applications.
