Update on the Recovery of the Supply of Our Cutting Tools suspended by the Damages by March 11 Earthquake

We would like to express our heartfelt sympathy to the victims of a massive earthquake which hit the northeastern part of Honshu on March 11.

Due to the damages caused by the earthquake, we were forced to suspend the operations at our production facilities and warehouse location. After we put every resource to resume operations, all business locations, except Tsukuba Plant, are now up and running normally.
Although Tsukuba Plant has already resumed some of the operations, it will take a little more time for Tsukuba Plant to be fully restored. We will do everything possible in our power to minimize the inconvenience of the suspended supply of cutting tools manufactured at Tsukuba Plant, and we will increase emergency alternative production capability by boosting the production at our other manufacturing locations in Japan and overseas.

The recovery of the supply by products is as shown below:

  1. Indexable Inserts (Stocked Standard Items)
    • Uncoated Carbide & Cermet Inserts - Operations normalized from May
    • PVD Coated Inserts - Operations normalized from June
    • CVD Coated Inserts - Operations normalized from July
  2. Indexable Inserts (Special/Custom-made)
