New insert series for turning of difficult-to-cut materials

In recent years, there has been a widespread shift towards the use of difficult-to-cut materials such as titanium alloy, heat resistant alloy and corrosion resistant alloy in various areas such as aircraft industry and medical field. Difficult-to-cut materials have low thermal conductivity, thus cutting edge temperature rapidly increases leading to problems such as jamming of continuous chips and chipping due to welding and generation of vibration during high efficiency machining.
The established PVD coated carbide grades “MP9015/MP9005” is optimized for turning of difficult-to-cut materials and Carbide grades “MT9015” is optimized for turning of difficult-to-cut materials, adopted new High Al-(Al,Ti)N single layer coating* with LS breaker, MS breaker and RS breaker targeted for turning of difficult-to-cut materials to provide superior wear resistance, fracture resistance and welding resistance, as well as longer tool life.

Features of insert series for turning of difficult-to-cut materials

PVD coated carbide grades “MP9015/MP9005” is optimized for turning of difficult-to-cut materials adopted High Al-(Al,Ti)N single layer coating highly contained aluminum with LS breaker, MS breaker and RS breaker targeted for turning of difficult-to-cut materials to provide longer tool life when turning of super alloys.

Carbide grades “MT9015” is optimized for turning of difficult-to-cut materials” to achieve superior wear resistance and fracture resistance. The combination with the grade and LS breaker, MS breaker or RS breaker targeted for turning of difficult-to-cut materials allows longer tool life when turning of titanium alloy.

Allows a wide range of different machining applications, using LS breaker to optimize for light cutting, MS breaker is optimized for medium cutting and RS breaker is optimized for roughing. The breakers will be available as standard items.

New coating technology contained high aluminum. It has succeeded to achieve a high hardness and improve oxidation onset temperature and stabilize high hardness layer. Furthermore, it delivers overwhelmingly high wear resistance, fracture resistance, creator wear resistance and welding resistance.
