New GU chip breaker available for the GY Grooving system. The new GU type chip breaker can be utilized in all grooving methods. Width sizes from 2mm - 3.18mm will be launched.

Technical Information:

• The GU profile is a sharp abrupt breaker which quickly modifies chip flow
• Concave face curls the chip tightly
• The GU breaker has a 7 degree rake angle and a 12 degree rake angle at the center
• Available with the VP10RT and VP20RT PVD grades, these choices will cover a majority of steel applications

Applications to Target:

• Grooving and parting applications
• Mild Steels
• Bearing Steels
• Applications where it is difficult to manage your chip breaking performance

• The abrupt profile allows manageable chips while operating at lower feed rates
• The concave shape adds strength to the cutting edge
